SEYMOUR L.I. -1900 :: CLEMENT J. -1900

Information received from Brian Johnson My grandfather served in South Africa during the AngloBoer War and I have been trying to determine what areas he may have been in. Part of the process has been to go through the few old photos that he had and try to determine where they were taken. One photo (attached) shows the grave of Major L.I. Seymour marked by a cross on the left and grave of J. Clement on the right partially out of the picture. A monument commemorates both men. A search on your site turned up Louis Irving Seymour in the Kroonstad, Old Cemetery but with a new monument. There is no record of J. Clement but there are many unknown graves. If the new monument for Louis Seymour is at the same location as the original (i.e. the remains have not been relocated) then the grave for J. Clement should be to the right.
