SELECTING A NEW CEMETERY TO LABEL:-
* Pick the cemetery you want to mark
* Select EDIT ALBUM from the drop down list
* Type your name in the SUMMARY BOX
* Save
* Once you are FINISHED WITH THE LABELS
- add [:: DONE] next to your name in the summary box for example: Riana le Roux::Done
- and put a c in front of the album title, eg:
c Krugersdorp.
(It helps to identify the albums to be moved)
In the case of [b]DUPLICATED[/b] photos:-
* Select the best image and label it
* mark the second photo with a [ xx ]
* We will delete the duplicated version - prior to moving the photos across to the public page.
IMPORTANT:
The remaining photo must show the
* SURNAME AND FIRST NAMES
* DOB AND DOD
If these details should appear on different photos - you will have to MARK THEM ALL PLS! Then you CANNOT go [x].
Please make sure that you are familiar with the captioning guidelines, if you need to read it through again, please let me know and I will forward it to you with pleasure. Also please check that the remaining photos show the names, dates AND surname, before you mark the unnecessary photos with "X". If there are two of the same, choose the best one and mark the other "X".
If you are not 100% sure of the dates, please indicate with question marks ie. 18??-195? or if most of it can not be read, please leave it out completely, instead of putting the wrong dates in.
Remember the golden rule, we only caption exactly what it says on the gravestone....if we can read it.
Things easily overlooked:
HATTINGH Maria geb. LOUW 1910-1995 should be HATTINGH Maria [b] nee [/b] LOUW 1910-1995
ROUX Piet, le not ROUX Piet, Le (le, du, de, la, van, etc. must always be in lower case when we caption it in the beginning of the caption). In the second part of a caption , we will put the entire surname in capitals ie. ROUX Piet, le 1900-1950 & Sannie DU PLOOY 1900-1950
When we have more than one person in a grave, NOT married, we have to repeat the surname each time :
JACOBS Alwyn 1900-1950 :: JACOBS Gert 1900-1950 :: JACOBS Koos 1900-1950
When captioning a surname like MÜLLER or KOTZÉ, remember to put it under the KEYWORD box in capital letters WITHOUT the diacritical marks (umlauts and acute accents) , ie. MULLER or KOTZE.
Please do not work on more than one album at a time and do not "book" albums by putting your name on the album unless you intend to start working immediately.
