Col. Sir George Farrar. Bt., DSO, MLA. Born 17-06-1857.
Died 20-05-1915. Member of Headquarters Staff. A pioneer
of the City and of the Witwatersrand from 1885. Leader of the Opposition in the Transvaal Legislative Assembly 1907-1910. Member of the first Parliament of the Union of
South Africa, 1910-1915. Killed in action. (See Dictionary of South African Biography - Editor).
