According to Ralph McLean, Project Director of the SA War Graves Project, there were two Victor's killed at the Battle of Arras and buried in the Point-du-Jour Military Cemetery, Athies:- * Second Lieutenant Victor Alfred HUNT from the 4th Regiment died 9 Apr 1917 * Lance Corporal Victor Bertram SHEPPERSON from the 3rd Regiment died 9 Apr 1917 As there are other SHEPPERSON's buried in this particular cemetery and this grave and that of Private SG SHEPPERSON , who died in 1918, were right next to each other we are of the opinion that this might be the family stone for the SHEPPERSON family.
