Cemetery information:- Town in Southern Transvaal, established in 1866, proclaimed a municipality in 1903. For a short while in 1880 Heidelberg was the capital of the Transvaal, at the start of the First South African War. The cemetery is referred to as 'The Camp' - because of all the Concentration Camp graves in there.
