Information provided by Boris Gorelik:- The grave is situated in the Jewish part of the cemetery. Osip Runich (sometimes spelt as Ossip Rounich, Runic or Runitsch) was one of the biggest stars of the Russian silent cinema. After the Revolution of 1917, he fled Russia and left for Italy where he took part in a number of films. Later, he moved to Germany where he starred in movies together with Emil Jannings and other German film greats. By the late 1930s, he was living in Riga, Lativia. Apparently, when he realised that the the World War 2 was inevitable, he accepted an invitation to tour South Africa from his local Jewish friends. He stayed in South Africa and became a founder of one of the first professional Jewish theatre companies in your country. Besides, he produced operas for the State Theatre in mid-1940s.
