Evgenia Nikolaevna Kandyba, nee Baroness Kaulbars (1879-1963). Her father prepared the first Russian maps of Australia, South America, Africa and Arabia. During the Russian-Japanese War and World War 1, she was a sister of mercy and was awarded with a gold medal by Nicholas II for her selfless service. Her daughter Elizaveta Kandyba-Foxcroft (1912-1989) founded the first Russian university chair, at the Unisa.
