This is the memorial stone of Rt Rev Bishop Henry Delalle, O.M.I. (Oblates of Mary Immaculate). He was born in 1870. The tombstone gives the Latin version of his name as is traditional in the Catholic Church for very senior clerics as Henricus Delalle. He was Roman Catholic Vicar Apostolic of Natal and Bishop of Durban, from 1904 until 1946. This is a floor plaque inside the cathedral as he is buried under the floor, as are all the bishops of that diocese who died in South Africa. Information by Jane O'Connor.
