Additional notes:
Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, the home of Sheffield Wednesday, was selected by the Football Association (FA) as a neutral venue to host the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest football clubs, England, on 15 April 1989. With 96 fatalities and 766 injuries, it remains the worst disaster in British sporting history. As is common at domestic matches in England, opposing supporters were segregated. Nottingham Forest supporters were allocated the South Stands and the so called Spion Kop on the east end: Spion Kop (or Kop for short) is a colloquial name or term for a number of single tier terraces and stands at sports stadiums, particularly in the United Kingdom. Their steep nature resembles a hill near Ladysmith, South Africa, that was the scene of the Battle of Spion Kop in January 1900 during the Second Boer War. Liverpool supporters were allocated the North and West ends. (Wikipedia)
