Cemetery information:- This cemetery was used in the late 1800's by die gold diggers of Steynsdorp. It is in the veld, overgrown and in a bad state. Two graves have been dug open. The story is that the mine manager of the time, Mr Hodge, buried gold under his wife's body. The result is that her grave, as well as the unmarked grave next to hers, have been dug open and are much deeper than normal graves. It is unclear what happened to their bodies.
