Cemetery information:- Another one of those places that has more than one name. Its correct name is "Evangelical-Lutheran Concordia-Congregation Gerdau" and the church stands on the farm Hakboslaagte in the Coligny District. Most of my life I new it as the Gerdau congregation until about the time they celebrated their centenary in 2005 people started talking about the Coligny Congregation. Occasionally people also refer to it as being Hakboslaagte. The railway station close by (± 1000m) is also called Gerdau. Soon after the congregation was founded in 1905 the first babies died and the first adult, young mother Hesse, died on 26 March 1909. - Eckhard von Fintel.
